YCR’s Sami Speaks at the Dinner of Dreams Ball

Stage

YCR founding member Sami recently attended The Cooperative’s Dinner of Dreams ball. The ball which was in aid of raising money for Young Adult Carers was attended by over 800 guests, including Her Royal Highness the Princess Royal.

The Cooperative chose Carers Trust to be their charity of the year, focusing specifically on 14 -25 year old. They announced at the event that they had raised over £5 million in aid of the charity, which would go towards raising awareness and improving services across the country.

The ball which was hosted by comedian and actor Rob Brydon, provided guests with , a sit down 3 course meal, a live auction and live entertainment. The evening also allowed for speeches, including one from Sami, who gave the guests her account of life as a Young Adult Carer. Her speech was received positively and ended with Sami receiving a standing ovation. YCR member Bethany was on hand to provide some much needed support. As well as representing the YCR crew at the event, Bethany attended the event because of her talent in photography, her work was to be shown in an exhibit at the event which was unfortunately cancelled at the last minute.
